Secure IT Asset Disposal

Asset Collection

We’ll collect your decommissioned assets from any location around the country. We liaise with your local site contact to confirm the details of decommissioned assets to be collected, check if there are any site or access restrictions, and finally schedule the collection.

Assets may be collected boxed or unboxed.

Audit, Testing and Reporting

On receipt at our facility assets will be checked into our cloud-based IT Asset Management system.

Each delivery is uniquely identified, and each asset is allocated a unique Interlink barcoded asset number to facilitate tracking throughout the entire process.

The following asset details will be recorded and reported:

  • Type

  • Make

  • Model

  • Serial number

  • Client Asset Number

  • Condition

  • Recovery Value

Interlink offers a comprehensive suite of services tailored to meet your IT security requirements when disposing of laptops, desktops, tablets, smartphones, network devices, servers and other IT infrastructure assets.

Certified Data Sanitisation

We securely wipe the hard drives of all PCs, notebooks and servers, using a number of industry-leading Data Sanitisation applications. In certain cases, the hard drives may be degaussed or physically destroyed onsite or at our facility.

We also wipe the configurations of decommissioned network devices using Cisco-certified engineers.

With so many staff now regularly working from home, we’ve also developed a secure process to collect assets from users’ home addresses.  Assets will be transported to the nearest capital city for processing at an Interlink or partner facility, Australia-wide.

Our sensitive freight network extends from national freight companies to local carriers. We choose the right freight solution to minimise costs, every time.

Interlink utilises the NIST 800-88 data sanitisation method which relies on logical techniques – overwrite, block erase, and cryptographic erase – to sanitise the media.

Erasing a hard drive using the NIST 800-88 data sanitisation method will prevent all software-based file recovery methods from recovering data from the drive, as well as hardware-based recovery methods.

Value Recovery

Interlink returns maximum value to our clients from the remarketing or redeployment of their usable, decommissioned assets.

We will purchase outright all usable assets, setting that value off against the cost of other services delivered.

Certified Environmental Disposal

Interlink supports your commitment to sustainability by reusing, repairing, refurbishing and recycling your decommissioned IT assets.

All assets deemed to be unusable in their present form are separated to be processed by our materials recycling partners.  Interlink’s environmental disposal processes comply with ISO 14001 standards.

For large Australian corporates formal Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) reporting is becoming increasingly common.

ASIC, APRA, and the ASX now either recommend or require organisations to consider several sustainability-related risks.

For many businesses, sustainable waste management is a key operational area where they can improve their ESG performance, with a resulting positive impact on their carbon footprint, operational costs and resource efficiency.

A common measure is a total weight of electronic waste diverted from landfill, typically by refurbishment, reuse or recycling.

Interlink’s commitment to our clients includes annual reporting of the total weight of their electronic waste diverted from landfill. We prioritise reuse by remarketing refurbished devices to consumers and small businesses Australia-wide.  Devices that are deemed beyond repair are stripped down to their component parts and recycled by our accredited downstream eWaste recycling partners to comply with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018,

AS / NZS 5377:2013 and R2:2013 standards
