Secure Laptop Disposal Project
Client Challenge
In 2022 an Indian multinational IT services provider chose Interlink to securely dispose over 1,000 decommissioned laptops from their financial services client’s Melbourne site. With only incomplete asset records available, there was an immediate need to implement a transparent, auditable process to provide transparency for all parties.
Solution
Interlink deployed our secure laptop disposal tubs in batches of 25 to the site, enabling the secure removal of 250 laptops per batch. Our Melbourne team scanned the laptop serial numbers as they were packed into tubs prior to sealing them for secure transport to our facility.
The client signed off on the details of each batch, from which point Interlink undertook accountability for the secure transport, data sanitisation, testing and reporting of the laptops, with our final reports reconciling 100% with the batch reports created onsite.
Individual data sanitisation reports were provided for each laptop confirming that all assets have been successfully removed and wiped.
Interlink returns over $100,000 to our client at the completion of this secure laptop disposal project.

Interlink was proud to complete this project without a hitch, providing 100% transparency throughout, proof of data sanitisation and over $100,000 in return value after our fees.
